Though it was a long day behind the wheel, the trip down to Denver, NC (yes, there is a town called Denver in North Carolina...it's 25 minutes north of Charlotte) went very smoothly. And why wouldn't it? I had a brand-spankin'-new BMW to drive! I decided to rent a car for this trip to save on racking up the miles on my cars and decided to splurge on a "premium" rental. I really wanted a Cadillac, but they fell into "luxury" status, and those do not offer unlimited miles, so "premium" was the next best thing. Premium rentals included Maximas, Chrysler 300s, or Toyota Avalons, but since they didn't have any of these, it was a BMW 328i for me. It's a really nice car. The route from Avon: I-195 to the NJ Turnpike, to the PA Turnpike, to I-81, and to the I-77 toward Charlotte. The rest of the journey was the local roads (route 73 to 16 into Denver).
