Had a long day yesterday.
Things started at 6AM with a cardio intervals workout. The workout itself took about 30 minutes which got me home before 7 to get ready for the mines. A group of us took what I guess was an early lunch to pay our respects to our co-worker, Tammy, whose father passed away from a long illness early Friday morning. Fortunately, I brought lunch in and worked through which enabled me to get out on time to meet Dad in Union to head out to the Bronx to catch the Yankee game.
We made excellent time, despite having gone the wrong way on the Deegan (we wound up going north instead of south like we were supposed to). We parked ($35) and got inside around 6:15-ish and found that we wound up with seats in the bleachers. We checked out the museum and each got a dog and a beverage (Dad a beer, me a Diet Pepsi). The Mets smacked them...hard. Not a fun game to watch. Despite that, it was a nice time hanging with one of Dad's colleagues and his family. We also chatted with a fellow visiting from Mississippi who was visiting Yankee Stadium as a 60th birthday present to himself. Too bad the Yanks weren't on their game.
We left at the end of the 6th to avoid the traffic. I got home at a decent hour.
Today I'm not feeling that great and feel like I have one of those "air-conditioning colds"; I have the sniffles and my throat is sore. It's an off-day from the gym so it would be beneficial to rest a bit.
Looking forward to getting done for the day and getting home. Looks like it will be a laundry night and maybe a walk. It will probably be a great night for it.
